After a short, but courageous battle with lung cancer, Carol McKenzie recently passed away from our world. She blazed a trail through the eBook industry, and taught me the greatest lesson of all. Reviews are always and foremost one person's opinion. This post is in tribute to a wonderful author and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and all those she touched.

This is terrific, Dawne. I'm still blubbering a bit myself but I lvoe this post. Thank you for putting it up. And, aside, I'm now following you on blogspot.
She will be missed. If not for Carol, I never would have thought of a cowboy as sexy...I never would have tried contemporary erotica writing. It is incredible how we touch each other throughout life and change one another or make each other grow and change with all the small encouragements or advice we share.
Thanks so much, Pat. She was so supportive of me when I began writing erotica, as she was with everyone. She was so experienced in the genre. I'm still blubbering, too. This hit harder than I thought it would. Perhaps it was because Cerise Amour was visiting me here in Canada last week, and we were talking about Carol and wondering how she was doing, especially since no one had heard from her. I know why my emails were never answered. *sniffles*
Thanks, Ana. I know "exactly" how you feel. I'm currently trying to find an "eternal" pill just for you. And no, a vampire bite isn't going to cut it (no pun intended).
All my love and hugs,
Me
Carol was one of the people who pushed me into publishing. Heck, she was the one who told me point blank that if I was going to run a Romance Novel Workshop, I had better write a romance.
She will be missed!
I'm so deeply saddened. My day has been a mess since I heard of Carol's passing earlier from Love You Divine's publisher. I'm truly heart-broken. Carol mentored me ina n online writing forum, encouraged me, even showed me how to laugh at some of the writer mistakes that plagues us all. This tribute is beautiful. I loved Carol's writing style, not to mention her down-home personality and tenacity when it came to self-promotion. She will be sorely missed for family, friends and fans alike.
Thanks, Frankie. We've all been so numb all day. This happened so fast. She will be fondly remembered by all those she touched.
Jon, you and me both. Love you, my friend.
This was such sad news! I've known Carol for about five years. She showed me how to tackle writing as a job, without losing the individual spark needed in fiction. Willing to help...willing to hope. I won't forget her.
What a lovely post, Dawne. I'm sure Carol would have appreciated it. Though I didn't know her long, her kind nature made a positive impact on me, and I'm happy to have met her, however briefly.
